Healing Soups

As a doula, I have come to the realization …

that new Moms don't eat. Better put: New Moms are not fed. At postpartum visits, when I ask new Moms when was the last time they ate, the answer is often 6, 12, even 18 hours ago. And lots of times what they mean by eating I would not consider appropriate for a woman who is recovering from pregnancy, birth (some-times major surgery), producing milk, and not sleeping a whole night in days.

I wanted to give my new Moms the sense of being deeply supported, as women in traditional cultures have always been. So I couldn't help but share my homemade soups with my undernourished clients.

They said my soups increased their milk production, gave them a great feeling of comfort, and filled them with energy to deal with breast-feeding complications. Spontaneously, they started to ask if I could bring more soup — if I would take orders.

I am now pleased to be offering my homemade soups delivered conveniently to your door -- using one of my authentic recipes or ingredients of your choice.

I start from my heart, and also from scratch, always going for organic first. My ingredients come from the best sources and are always fresh -- handpicked whenever possible. Local and seasonal are preferred, and I never use foods that have been frozen. Absolutely no hormones, antibiotics, or preservatives.
